Patch Reprint
Already had this design engraved? This is how you get more of it. Same file, same laser, no design fee — you only pay for the patches.
What they are made of
Two-tone leather, also called leatherette, with an iron-on backing — the same stock your first run was cut from.
A note on color, and reorders in particular
The hides are dyed in batches, and two sheets of the same color can burn differently — I have had two sheets of the same stock come out noticeably apart. A reorder months later may not be an exact color match to your first run. Same design, same color name, same settings; the material itself moves a little between batches.
If the new ones have to sit alongside the originals, tell me when you order and I will cut from the closest stock I have, or tell you honestly if I cannot get there.
Pricing
- 2" patch — $4 each
- 3" patch — $6 each
- No design fee — you paid that once, and once is all it gets charged
- No minimum order
Ordering a lot of them
Those prices are for small runs. Past about fifty patches the price per patch comes down, and it keeps coming down the more you need. This page cannot work that out for you — email support@thevoidcreates.com with your design and roughly how many you need, and I will quote it properly.
When a reorder is free, and when it is not
Reordering a design I have already engraved costs the patch price only — a different size, a different color, a different quantity, all the same. Nothing about the artwork has changed, so there is nothing to redraw.
Need a spelling fix or a small wording change? That is $20. It is not the design fee coming back; you paid that once and it stays paid.
Past a text correction — new elements, a different layout, anything that has to be drawn rather than edited — it is a new design and carries the design fee again. Start that one on Custom Patch Engraving.
If the correction is fixing something I got wrong, there is no charge. That one is on me, and I would rather you tell me than live with it.
Proofs and revisions
A straight reorder does not need a proof — it is the same file, already approved. If you have asked for a text correction, you will get a proof before anything is engraved.
Two rounds are included, and past that each further round is $25. Rounds caused by my error do not count — if the proof does not match what you asked for, fixing it is free.
Finding your design is my job, not yours
Give me whatever you have — an order number, the name of the design, or just the email you ordered with. Every file I have cut stays on record and I will match it. If you cannot remember any of that, order anyway and tell me roughly what it was; I will dig it out and send you a proof before anything is engraved.
There is no expiry on this
Come back in five years and it is still just the patch cost. The file does not go anywhere.
How long it takes
Most orders go out within the week, usually by that weekend. I will not promise a date I have not looked at first, so if you are working to a deadline, tell me up front and I will say straight away whether I can hit it.
How they attach
Same iron-on backing as your first run — here are the numbers again in case you no longer have them.
285°F / 140°C for 30 seconds.
On anything that gets washed hard or worked hard, a few stitches around the edge is cheap insurance.
If it does not hold up, I replace it
I stand behind every patch that leaves here — reorders included. Tell me what happened to it and another one goes out. A valid reason works. So does a good story.
Never had this design engraved before?
Then it is new artwork and belongs on Custom Patch Engraving, which is where the one-time design fee lives.
